Privacy
Last updated August 2026mypolitics is built so that the least possible amount of you travels with your opinion. This page is the whole policy — no annexes, no lawyer maze.
What we collect
- Your daily mood vote — stored as one anonymous count in that day’s bucket.
- Your email, only if you join the waitlist. Your browser also keeps a yes-or-no mark that you joined — not the address — so we stop asking on your next visit.
- A random anonymous identifier kept in this browser profile, which stops that profile voting twice in a day. It is mixed with the day and a secret value, and only the irreversible hash is stored. Older cached versions of the site may temporarily use a salted hash of IP address and browser user-agent instead; the raw values are never written to the vote database.
- Anonymous page-view counts, through Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not follow you to other sites — it tells us which pages get read, not who read them.
What we never collect
- Your name, phone number, or location.
- Advertising identifiers, or any cross-site tracking script.
- Anything that lets us turn a stored vote back into a person.
Your vote
Votes are stored as anonymous mood records used to compute the daily aggregate; they contain no raw browser identifier or IP address. The displayed count resets at midnight IST. Your browser remembers an anonymous voting identifier and which mood you picked today, so the page greets you instead of asking twice — clear your site data and that memory goes with it.
Where it lives
The site runs on Vercel and the database is Neon. Both keep their own infrastructure logs, as any host does.
